According to reports Director Marketing, Mr. Salman Wassay has quit from Zong and moved towards Ufone.
The source at Ufone reported that Mr. Abdul Aziz, President and CEO of Ufone declared Mr. Wassay’s selection as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Ufone.
This change is somewhat for Zong when it has just recently crossed Warid Telecom in terms of subscriber base. Industry analysts believe that Zong achieved its first milestone in Pakistani Telecom market by introducing some out of the box products.
According to a senior official at a local cellular company,
“After crossing Warid, Zong’s management found it relatively easier to target Ufone in the coming months. However, considering the gravity of situation, Mr. Abdul Aziz and the Etisalat management has played smartly to deal with the future situation by making commitment with the man who is doing wonders at the moment”.
The current situation has taken Zong’s entire team by surprise as Mr. Wassay becomes third major leading official to have left the company during past four months after Mr. Zafar Usmani (Ex-COO, Zong) and Mr. Ali Raza Mehdi (Ex-Director HR, Zong). It is now challenging for Zong to maintain the same pace especially from the point of view that no one had so far appointed on the positions of COO and Director HR.
