West Indies women cricket preserved the four-match one-day series against Pakistan with a 50 runs win. West Indies won the toss and chosen to bat and openers Stafanie Taylor and Juliana Nero gave a 52-run stand.
Left-arm spinner Sadia Yousuf then hit to send home both batsmen in rapid succession. West Indies move violently to improve from that dual blow and slumped from 65 for 2 to 81 for 6.
Shaquana Quintyne (23) and Mohammed (25) resisted briefly down the order to push West Indies to 154 for 8 in their 50 overs. Sadia and Nida Dar were the most victorious Pakistan bowlers with three wickets each.
Rain postponed the start of Pakistan’s innings by 30 minutes and their goal was abridged to 148 runs in 45 overs under the D/L method.
Pakistan batsmen move violently against some stiff bowling from the hosts. Only four managed to reach double figures with opener Javeria Khan top scoring with 20.
Anisa Mohammed picked up four wickets as well as the last wicket to close the series for the home team.
She was well supported by Pearl Etienne, Shanel Daley and Taylor, who picked up two wickets respectively, as Pakistan were routed for 97 in just under 42 overs to give West Indies the 3-1 series win.
Now West Indies and Pakistan will play four T20 games with the first one in St Andrew s on 6th September.
