Cellular Village Connection Trial, PTA

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced an outstanding plan of Cellular Village Connection Trial (CVCT), a first of its kind in the whole area, purposed at inviting cellular operators to increase telephony services for people of remote regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to PTA’s official,

“The authority has planned this unique model which will educate the industry of secure border communications.”

He further mentioned that the PTA will act as a coordinator among SCO and Huawei to carry out a GSM cellular village connection trial in Neelum Valley, AJK, on trial basis for 6 months.

After this trial service, it will only be carry forward in the regions which will be analyzed safe for such services based on the lessons learnt from the trial.

Recently, PTA Chairman Dr. Mohammad Yasin has visited the Cellular Village situated in the precinct of Sector Headquarters of Special Communication Organization (SCO) in Muzaffarabad and he expressed that it is a new concept which is particularly designed to increase cellular services in those areas where it is not possible to supply these services due to hard landscape, closeness with the borders areas, utility concerns, low population, cost of arrangement and year round perpetuation.
