Huawei is supplying above 60 % hardware solutions to the Pakistani telecom operators.
Huawei’s Deputy CEO for Pakistan Colin Hu has verified that his company has sold 3G gear to Ufone and Mobilink and the both companies are ready to take part in the up coming 3G auctions.
Ufone spokesman chosen not to remark on the Colin Hu’s claim but according to the words of Mobilink spokesman,
“Part of this upgrading also ensures that our networks are 3G upgradeable when the eventual shift to 3G is undertaken.”
Mobilink is the biggest telecom operator in Pakistan at present. It is changing its decade old Motorola tools with Huawei’s 3G equipment all over the country.
However some of its towers are still using the same old Motorola tools, but it will soon change them with Huawei during the up gradation process.
Colin Hu also claimed that Huawei could switch to the new 3G spectrum within month duration if Mobilink and Ufone came successful out of 3G auctions.

Both the semi-finals of SAF Under-16 Football tournament will be played today. The event of Under-16 football is being held in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu.

The results of their study can help identify the different mechanisms involved in back pain and lead to more effective treatment options.
The team’’s research has proved that genes play an important role in lower back pain and the decay of intervertebral discs of the spine as well.
Astonishingly, according to Prof. Livshits, lower back pain and disk decay do not always overlap, and are caused by different genes factors.
Prof. Livshits and his team looked at a sample twin population of 2,500 individuals, comprising both identical and non-identical female twins. They tested for several potential risk factors, such as smoking, weight, physical work, vertebral disc decay malady as well as genes liability.
In non-identical twins who share half of their genetic make-up, patients were almost three times more likely to suffer from back pain if their twin did so as well. In identical twins, who share all of their genes, the patient was six times more likely to have joint malady if their twin experienced the same joint malady.

Onion skins beneficial for reduction of cancer & diabetes
Scientists have recommended that onion’s skin is helpful for human health. The researchers mentioned that the brown skin and external layers are rich in fibre and flavonoids, while the useless bulbs hold sulphurous.
The research was jointly conducted by Benitez“s research group and scientists from Cranfield University (United Kingdom). They carried out laboratory experiments to recognize the substances and possible uses of each part of the onion.
The study suggested that the brown skin could be used as a functional ingredient high in dietary fibre (principally the non-soluble type) and phenolic compounds, such as quercetin and other flavonoids (plant metabolites with medicinal properties). The two outer fleshy layers of the onion also contain fibre and flavonoids.
Meanwhile Phenolic compounds help to avoid coronary malady and have anti-carcinogenic properties. The high levels of these compounds in the dry skin and the outer layers of the bulbs also give them high antioxidant capacity.
The study is detailed in the journal Plant Foods for Human Nutrition.

The two outer fleshy layers of the onion also contain fibre and flavonoids.
Meanwhile Phenolic compounds help to avoid coronary malady and have anti-carcinogenic properties. The high levels of these compounds in the dry skin and the outer layers of the bulbs also give them high antioxidant capacity.

Fish oil has beneficial effects to prevent osteoarthritis

University of Bristol researchers have initiated for the first time that omega-3 in fish oil could “substantially and significantly” diminish the symbols and indications of osteoarthritis.
The rich omega-3- diets fed to guinea pigs, which naturally grow osteoarthritis, decrease malady by 50 % compared to a standard diet, Science Daily reported.
Omega 3 fatty acids either sourced from fish oil or flax oil may assist to lessen the progression of osteoarthritis or even prevent it occurring, confirming anecdotal reports and “old wives’ tales” about the benefits of fish oil for joint health.

Zong’s Director Marketing, Mr. Salman Wassay resigned
According to reports Director Marketing, Mr. Salman Wassay has quit from Zong and moved towards Ufone.
The source at Ufone reported that Mr. Abdul Aziz, President and CEO of Ufone declared Mr. Wassay’s selection as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Ufone.
This change is somewhat for Zong when it has just recently crossed Warid Telecom in terms of subscriber base. Industry analysts believe that Zong achieved its first milestone in Pakistani Telecom market by introducing some out of the box products.
According to a senior official at a local cellular company,

Waqar Younis talked about his good experience with PCB & Team

Too much use of computer games can be the cause of dementia to children
A renowned neuroscientist, Baroness Greenfield, has suggested that the too much use of computer games can be the reason of damage to children’s brains. This brain damage can lead to a transitory dementia (madness).
She is a British scientist and her area of expertise is in the physiology of brain. She is a professor of Synaptic Pharmacology.
According to her, although it is a fact that the computer games enhance the awareness of children towards real world’s challenges and they teach them about how to deal with various mystifying situations, but these can also cause them the computer obsession which stops us from spending more time in open air doing physical activities.

Declaration of Hockey Squad for Super Series
Chief selector Hanif Khan will declare the National Hockey team for Lenko International Super Series.
The Super Series will start from 20th October. Apart from Pakistan other countries’ team such as India, Australia, and Newzeland will also take part in the series.
In Lenko International Super Series, every team will contain of nine players. In addition, new laws will be introduced to make the series interesting. After the Super Series, the national hockey team will participate in tri-nation tournament.
